Death Comes to Albert C. Brandt

Retired Farmer Was Ardent Hunter

Albert C. Brandt, 77, Route 1, died Thursday at a Malvern nursing home where he was a patient three days.

He had suffered a heart condition several years.

Mr. Brandt had been an ardent hunter since childhood. He had hunted big game and fished all over the United States and Canada.

His first love was duck hunting. This last season he was taken on a stretcher by friends to Forney's Lake to hunt. During the day the three hunters only had one shot - Mr. Brandt was lying on the stretcher and rose just enough to shoulder the gun and got the bird.

Wed 51 Years

Mr. Brandt and his wife observed their 51st wedding anniversary in February of 1962.

He was a member of a pioneer farm family of Council Bluffs, and was born within 100 yards of the present Brandt home on Route 1.

In 1946 he retired from farming and moved into Council Bluffs. The couple missed the country so much they returned to their Route 1 neighborhood and built a new home.
