WAHOO, Neb — Evelyn L. (Ruzicka) Brandt, 75, of Council Bluffs died Dec. 27 at Arbor Manor in Fremont, Neb.

She was born Aug. 23, 1925, in Colon, Neb., to Behumil T. “Carl” and Agnes (Krael) Ruzicka.

She grew up in the Colon area and graduated from Fremont (Neb.) High School in 1943.

She moved to Omaha in 1944 and then lived on the Brandt family farm near Council Bluffs from 1956 until she entered Arbor Manor on Dec. 6.

She was a stenographer at Mutual of Omaha from 1944 to 1958 and had managed and operated the family farm near Council Bluffs for the past several years. She was a member of St. Peter's Church and Worship Center.

Mrs. Brandt was preceded in death by her husband, Paul H., on Feb. 6, 1990.

Survivors include two sisters, Adeline Dwyer of Cedar Bluffs, Neb., and Dorothy Horeis of Omaha; two brothers, Raymond Ruzicka and wife Phyllis, of Fremont and Charles Ruzicka of Colon, nieces and nephews.

Funeral Mass will be Saturday at 10 a.m. at St. Wenceslaus Catholic Church in Wahoo, Neb., with the Rev. Rudy Oborny officiating.

Burial will be in St. Wenceslaus Cemetery at Wahoo.

Svoboda Funeral Home in Wahoo is in charge of arrangements.

Memorials may be offered to St. Wenceslaus Cemetery.
