Funeral Services Held Sunday for Mrs. Green

Mrs. Sophia Green, 58, wife of Chris Green, Lewis township, Route No. 1, Council Bluffs died Thursday at her home after an illness of three weeks.

Mrs. Green was a daughter of pioneer residents of Pottawattamie counties. She was born close to the Mills-Pottawattamie county line and had lived in this section all her life. She was a member of the Lutheran church in the Plumer settlement in Lewis township.

She is survived by her husband, one son, Wallace Green at home; three daughters, Mrs. Marie Schoening and Mrs. Grace Schoening of Mills county, and Mrs. Ruth Schoening of Lewis township; two brothers, John and Herman Young, both of Glenwood; four sisters, Mrs. Louis Meppen of Idaho Falls, Idaho, Mrs. Laura Heptner of Rosette, Wyoming, Mrs. Lydia Basch of Oakland and Mrs. Emma Boehm, of Mineola, and five grandchildren.

Funeral services were held at the residence in Lewis township, Sunday at 1:00 p.m., with Rev. O. C. Biermann of Mineola officiating. Burial was made in the Plumer cemetery.


MRS. CHRIS GREEN OF LEWIS TOWNSHIP DIES

Mrs. Sophia Green, 58, wife of Chris Green, Lewis township, Route No. 1, Council Bluffs, died of obstruction of the bowel at 3:30 p.m. Thursday at her home after an illness of three weeks.

Mrs. Green was the daughter of pioneer residents of Pottawattamie and Mills counties. She was born close to the Mills-Pottawattamie county line and had lived in this section all her life. She was a member of the Lutheran church in the Plumer settlement in Lewis township.

Pallbearers were William Young, Emmons Basch, Edwin Boehm, Annum Young, Herbert Green, and Harold Spetman. Flower bearers were Martha Plumer, Ida Young, Kathryn Spetman, Irene Basch, LaVanche Young, Geraldine Boehm, Helen Young, Gertrude Spetman, May Brandt and Marion Bostedt. Music was furnished by Herman Heuwinkle, William Heuwinkel, Theodore Basch and Donold Kirschoff, accompanied by Irene Heuwinkel. Burial was in the Plumer settlement. Cutler's funeral home was in charge.
