William McIntosh

William “Dave” McIntosh, 76, of Route 1, died Wednesday at his home following a six-month illness.

He was born in Harrison County and resided most of his life in the Council Bluffs community.

He farmed many years in Mills County south of Council Bluffs, was a member of the rural Eureka No. 2 School Board; St. Mary's Dike and Drainage District; the St. Mary's ASCS Committee, and the American Association of Retired People.

He and his wife, Lola, were married 52 years.

Surviving besides his wife are three sons, Jerry L., David L. “Toby” and William “Tex”, all of rural Council Bluffs; two daughters, Janet Mae “Sally” Greinke of Phoenix, Ariz. and Mary Lou Weaver of Baxter Springs, Kan.; sister Elsie Brown of Council Bluffs; 14 grandchildren, seven great-grandchildren and three step grandchildren.

Services will be 10:30 a.m. Saturday at the Meyer Funeral Home. The Rev. Ron Blix, pastor of Salem United Methodist Church, will officiate. Interment will be in the Plumer Settlement Cemetery.

Visitation with the family will be from 7 to 8 p.m. Friday at Meyer's. Memorials are suggested to Salem United Methodist Church or the Heart Association.
