Herbert Nansel

Funeral services for Herbert W. Nansel, 61, Route 1, will be at 11 a.m. Thursday at Trinity Lutheran Church in Glenwood.

The Rev. Laine A. Mathiasen will officiate. Burial will be in Plumer Settlement Cemetery.

Nansel died Monday at a Council Bluffs hospital after a short illness.

He was a lifelong resident and long time farmer south of Council Bluffs. He graduated in 1938 from Abraham Lincoln High School, was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church and Farm Bureau, both in Glenwood and, and the Veterans of Foreign Wars in Council Bluffs. He was formerly active in 4-H activities and was a World War II Army veteran.

Surviving are his wife, Helen K.; three sons, Blane H., of Richland, Boyd W. of Council Bluffs and Brian J. Nansel, at home; daughter, Mrs. Burton (Beth Ellen) English of Ames; father, Joseph W. Nansel of Glenwood; a brother, Earl J. of Glenwood, and three grandchildren.
