Mrs. Sophia Clara Saar, wife of Otto Saar, 705 Hazel street, died Tuesday afternoon at 3:30 o'clock at a local hospital in spite of four operations which failed to relieve her.

She is survived by her husband; a daughter, Mrs. Arthur Goos of Carson; three sisters, Mrs. Lena Hoeckle of Jamestown, N. D., Miss Lucy Schrodt and Mrs. W. E. Ryan of Council Bluffs; a brother, Jacob Schmidt of Poteau, Okla., and five grandchildren.

The body was removed to Woodring's funeral home. Funeral services will be held Friday at the residence at 1:30 p. m., and the regular services at 2 p. m. at St. Paul's Lutheran church, of which she was a member. Rev. Martin Mueller will officiate. Burial will be in the Plumer cemetery.


Funeral services for Mrs. Sophia Clara Saar, 705 Hazel street, who died at a local hospital Sept. 24, were held Friday afternoon. A short service at the residence at 1 o'clock was followed by services at St. Paul's Lutheran church at 2 o'clock. Rev. Martin Mueller, pastor of the church, officiated. Music was furnished by the church choir with Dr. Carl Albert Jesse at the organ. The pallbearers were Otto Brunning, Walter Lee, Arthur Klein, Adolph Goos, Charles Miller, and Amil Haman. The services were largely attended. Interment was in the Plumer cemetery.
