Mrs. Spetman, 84, Dies After Illness

Mrs. Martha A. Spetman, 84, of Route 1, died late Saturday night at her home after an illness of five weeks.

Born in Mills County, she was the widow of Carl L. Spetman, who died in 1945. The Spetmans observed their golden wedding anniversary in June of 1945.

Mrs. Spetman was a member of St. Paul's Lutheran Church.

Survivors include: five sons, Arthur C., Alfred J. and Paul, all of Council Bluffs, Donald H. of Phoenix, Ariz., and Harold J. of Council Bluffs; four daughters, Mrs. Olive Heitman of Earlham, Mrs. Kathryn Spethmann, Mrs. Ruth Geise, and Mrs. Gertrude Beno, all of Council Bluffs; sister, Mrs. Ella Plumer of Star Route; 27 grandchildren and 16 great grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held Tuesday at 2 p.m. at St. Paul's Lutheran Church. The Rev. G. W. Lobeck will officiate. Burial will be at Lutheran Cemetery in the Plumer settlement near Glenwood.
