Mrs Leon J. Wait

Sarah Julia Theresa Green Wait, daughter of Henry and Christina Green, was born May 2, 1884, at the “Green Hill” farm in Mills county, and died at Jennie Edmundson hospital in Council Bluffs August 14, 1963 having reached the age of 79 years, three months and 12 days.

On August 6, 1913, she was united in marriage to leon L. Wait. They established their home a short ways from her home place where she remained until taken ill on August 13.

A niece, Mrs. Carl Buch, made her home with them since infancy and a cousin, Howard Poole, who preceded her in death three years ago, was with them for seven years.

Mrs. Wait was a member of the St. John's Lutheran church of Mineola and the Ladies Aid.

Survivors include: her husband Leon D. of Council Bluffs; a niece, Mrs. Carl Buch of Glenwood; and a brother, William of Denver, Colo.

Services were held August 16 at 2 p. m. from the Cutler Chapel in Council Bluffs with the Rev. Victor Staby officiating. Music was provided by Bonnie Brown, organist and Floyd Fischer, soloist.

Casket bearers were Homer Wiseman, Victor Young, Charles Plumer, Jr., Alfred Green, Walter Green and Alfred Fiala.

Burial was at Plumer Settlement cemeterhy.
