Frank J. Woksa, Jr., 93 years, passed away March 14, 2008 at a local care center.

He was born September 22, 1914 in Omaha to the late Frank J. and Agnes (Pliska) Woksa and graduated in 1932 from South High School. He had resided in the Council Bluffs area since 1935. He was a farmer and also employed with Union Pacific Railroad in the Signal Dept., for 21 years. He was a member of St. Paul's Evangelical Country Church; Excelsior Lodge No. 259 AF & AM; South Omaha Eagles.

He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife, Leona A. (Thieschafer) Woksa on 09-07-04 and infant daughters, Linda Kay, Janice Kay; son-in-law, Kenneth Johnson; sisters, Bernice Brandt and Mildred Thieschafer.

Survivors include his daughter, Lona Johnson; grandson, Roger Johnson and wife Mary, all of Council Bluffs, Iowa; granddaughter, Rhonda Gunther and husband John II, of Lees Summit, Mo.; great grandchildren, Kendra and husband Ryan Burke; John Gunther III and wife Amy, all of Lees Summit, Mo.; nieces and nephews.

Visitation with the family will be Monday 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. at the Cutler-O'Neill-Meyer-Woodring Funeral Home. Funeral services will be Tuesday, 1:00 p.m. at the funeral home, Rev. Joe Harter will officiate. Interment will be in the Plumer Settlement Cemetery. Memorials are suggested to St. Paul's Evangelical Country Church.

Frank J. Woksa, Jr., 93 years, of Council Bluffs, died March 14, 2008, at a local care center. Funeral services were held Tuesday, March 18, 2008, at Cutler-O'Neill-Meyer-Woodring Funeral Home in Council Bluffs. Rev. Joe Harter officiated. Interment took place in the Plumer Settlement Cemetery.
